The
Atlantic Provinces Athletic Therapist Association (APATA) is proud to
host the CATA Annual Conference. The 2004 conference will be held in
Antigonish, N.S at St Francis Xavier University.
Approximately 250 Athletic Therapists and other sport medicine professionals from across Canada will meet in Antigonish for this exciting conference on the Lower Extremity. Presentations from a wide variety of leaders in their fields will include gait, orthotics, proprioception, advancements in rehabilitation and surgery techniques. In addition to annual events such as the tape off competition, exhibitors blitz, AGM and Banquet, will plenty of social events including a golf tournament, lobster dinner and lots of "East Coast" music, dancing and fun! Antigonish is located in the Highland Heart of Nova Scotia, it is approximately 2 hours from the Halifax Airport. It is approximately 30 minutes from the causeway to Cape Breton and approximately 2.5 hours to the start of the Cabot Trail. Antigonish is 40 minutes from the ferry to PEI and 3 hours from the bridge to PEI. A small town with a population of 8,000, while there is no bus in town, most stores and restaurants are within easy walking distance of the campus. Downtown Antigonish (a 5 minute walk) offers shopping and a number of fine dining establishments.
